This museum quality Burmese lacquer ware ball box, comes from the city of Bagan. The artist is Maung Aung Myin. This gentleman is a 5th generation artisan who because of his true methods and attention to detail has been commissioned by the British Museum.
This ball box has the main body and a bowl/lid top. It is in black and red lacquer. The incredibly fine artistry is a dancing motif covering the base and the lid. The lid has a elephant in full festival attire.
